Lithuania

LTU

Lithuania is an EU and Schengen member state with one of Europe's most powerful passports, granting visa-free access to 189 destinations, and an exceptionally strong citizenship by descent programme that extends to descendants of Lithuanian citizens who emigrated before 1990. While Lithuania generally prohibits dual citizenship, those who obtain citizenship through descent restoration are often exempt from renouncing their current nationality, making it a unique EU passport pathway for the Lithuanian diaspora.
